Terrorist Act Remains 'Possible Reason' for Russian Plane Crash in Egypt - PM Medvedev

A reason for last month's crash of the Russian passenger plane in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula could be a terrorist bombing, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday.

This is the first time a senior Russian government official has publicly admitted that the crash might have been a result of a terrorist attack.

ERT to be the international digital provider, says Infrastructure Minister Spirtzis

The public broadcaster ERT will be the global digital provider, said Infrastructure Minister Christos Spirtzis to ERT1 TV channel.

'Illegitimate Halal KFC' restaurant in Iran closed on third day in business

An illegitimate "Halal KFC" restaurant has been closed in Iran within days of its opening as the parent company in the United States is seeking legal action over the opening, as reported by Al Arabiya News. The restaurant manager, however, said the restaurant was a part of a brand known as Halal KFC, which comes from Turkey. 

Praimedia Services Withdrawing from Deal on Bulgaria's TV7

Burgas-based Praimedia EOOD on Tuesday announced it was pulling out of a deal it signed this spring to buy TV7, Super7 and News7 TV stations.

The company cites, in a statement quoted by BGNES wire service, "refusal" by the state to register its new owners over alleged non-compliance with with the Commerce Act of the Republic of Bulgaria.

U.S. State Secretary John Kerry says his country "plans to coordinate its actions with Russia when sending its servicemen to Syria."

Kerry told the MIR TV channel that the United States "wanted to broaden its cooperation with Russia, but it depended on Moscow's decision concerning the Syrian political settlement," Sputnik reported.

Daily Hürriyet columnist receives Social Success Award from English organization

Daily Hürriyet columnist, screenwriter and actress Gülse Birsel has received the Social Success Award from the Centre for Turkey Studies (CEFTUS) in London on Oct. 28. 

Birsel, who usually writes two humorous columns for daily Hürriyet a week evaluating the Turkish society and the daily issues most of the people in Turkey face, was awarded CEFTUS' Social Success Award. 

Belgrade Mayor Apologises for Incident with Journalists

The Mayor of Belgrade has apologised to journalists who had their equipment confiscated when they were trying to question him.

A statement released by the Journalists' Association of Serbia reported that the Mayor said the incident happened after a group of unknown people approached him during talks with a contractor at the Belgrade Waterfront site, saying they were journalists.
