TV screens in Greece go blank as digital provider suffers technical glitch

Television screens around Greece went blank around 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday as the country's digital signal provider, Digea, said it was trying to repair a "serious technical glitch."

The only channels that continued broadcasting were state television NERIT and Parliament's Vouli.

Dutch expert fired after showing MH17 victim photos

A Dutch expert helping to identify victims from last year's MH17 airliner crash in Ukraine has been fired after showing photographs of the dead at a public lecture, the government said on April 23.  

"The collaboration with George Maat has been terminated," Justice Minister Ard van der Steur told lawmakers in parliament.

Skouries mine employee's car found burnt after 'threats'

The vehicle of an employee working at the Skouries gold mine in Halkidiki, northern Greece, was completely destroyed in an arson attack in the area of Nea Roda on Monday.

The employee had recently appeared on Skai TV speaking in favor of the contested mining project.

Following his television appearance, the man alleged that he had received threats.
