Probe opened against 56 people who protested hydroelectric plants in Black Sea town
A public prosecutor has opened an investigation against 56 villagers in the Black Sea town of Zile who protested against three hydroelectric power plant (HES) projects in their city.
On March 15, some 2,000 protesters marched against the HES projects planned on Çekerek River in the Zile district of Tokat province while security forces set up barricades and used tear gas against them.
Quran-shaped cake under investigation in northern Turkey
Turkey's top religious body, the Diyanet, has opened an investigation over a Quran-shaped cake made by a Quran class in the Black Sea province of Tokat in 2013, stating that the cake did not comply with the spirit of the Holy Birth of the Prophet Muhammad and the Quran.

Museum constructed at Caesar's castle

Dracula sculpture to be placed in his 'Turkish dungeon'
A sculpture of Wallachian Prince Vlad III the Impaler, also known as Count Dracula, will be made and placed in a dungeon at the castle where he was claimed to have been kept in captivity in the central Anatolian province of Tokat, according to the Tokat City Council President Abdullah Gürbüz.
Secret tunnel in Dracula’s castle to open to tourism
A secret tunnel that has been discovered during restoration work under Tokat Castle, Turkeyâs second-largest castle in the northern province of Tokat, will be opened to tourism. The tunnel, known as Ceylanyolu, is claimed to have been used by a Roman kingâs daughters in order to go to the Pervane bath in the Ãanakçı stream area.
