Romania is making strides toward joining the Visa Waiver Program, a significant milestone that would enable its citizens to travel to the United States visa-free for up to 90 days. The country considers this inclusion a vital national objective and is steadily progressing towards meeting the necessary technical requirements.

Romania and the US are to sign an agreement on cooperation in the prevention of grave crimes such as terrorist offences and will exchange relevant information in this regard, according to media reports.

Among others, the agreement allows mutual access to the national systems for identifying fingerprints and to DNA-related analysis files.
