Veliko Tarnovo Declares State of Emergency
Bulgarian town of Veliko Tarnovo declared a state of emergency as the Yantra river overflowed and flooded homes, businesses, roads and public buildings in the area.
The towns Kilifarevo, Dryanovo and the village of Tserova Koria are also partly flooded by Yantra and its tributaries, reports Dnevnik.bg.

Prosecutor Seeks 8-Year Jail Term for Ex Anti-Mafia Unit Head

1.36M Cigarettes Seized in Raid in Bulgaria's Veliko Tarnovo
Bulgarian State Agency for National Security (DANS) seized 1.36 million cigarettes without excise duty near the town of Veliko Tarnovo.
DANS employees have searched two trucks and a warehouse as part of an operation against illicit transactions with excise goods. A total of 1.36 million cigarettes without excise duty were seized and both vehicles were also confiscated.
Code Yellow for Thunder- and Hailstorms in 8 Bulgarian Regions
A Code Yellow warning for thunder- and hailstorms was issued for Wednesday in north western and central northern Bulgaria was issued by the Meteorology Institute.
The warning regards the regions of Vidin, Motana, Vratsa, Pleven, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse.
The metorologists expect heavy rain, thunderstorms and possible hailstorms.
