The German military intends to utilize the popular short video platform TikTok as part of its recruitment strategy, as reported by DPA based on a statement from the country's defense ministry.

The Italian regulatory body has taken a firm stance against TikTok, citing concerns over the proliferation of harmful content on the platform, Reuters reported. The controversy centers around videos depicting young people engaging in a practice known as the "French scar" challenge, wherein participants pinch each other's cheeks to create lasting bruises on the cheekbone.

The decision by the US Congress to greenlight a law that could potentially spell the end of TikTok's presence in the United States has sparked intense reactions from various quarters.

The parliament's digital media commission is currently working on a bill to regulate and monitor the content produced by high-profile accounts on social media, with several platforms facing potential bans, the commission head has said. 

Nepal has banned the Chinese app TikTok because it considers its content harmful to social harmony, the BBC reported.

The decision comes days after the introduction of a new rule requiring companies that own social networks to open their liaison offices in the country.

TikTok has about a billion monthly users, but is banned in several countries, including India.
