EU Interior Ministers to Discuss Stricter Border Controls at JHA Council

The interior ministers of the EU member states are convening at an informal meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) council in Amsterdam on Monday and Tuesday.

Among the topics of discussion will be migration, border control, fight against terrorism and cyber security.

Hungarian FM Reaffirms Support for Bulgaria's Schengen Accession

During his visit to Sofia on Thursday, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto reaffirmed his country's support for the accession of Bulgaria to the Schengen Area.

Hungarian PM: EU Should Admit Bulgaria to Schengen to Halt Migrant Influx

According to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Bulgaria should be admitted to the Schengen Area in order for the EU to be able to deal more effectively with the ongoing refugee crisis.

Orban added in an interview for a public radio on Friday that the EU should establish a new frontier on the northern border of Greece in order to halt the migrant influx to Europe.
