Elon Musk no longer joining Twitter’s board of directors

Tesla CEO Elon Musk won't be joining Twitter's board of directors as previously announced. The tempestuous billionaire remains Twitter's largest shareholder.

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal tweeted the news, which followed a weekend of Musk tweets suggesting possible changes to Twitter, including making the site ad-free. Nearly 90% of Twitter's 2021 revenue came from ads.

After Twitter poll, CEO Musk sells off $5 bln in Tesla shares

After making a promise on Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has sold about 4.5 million shares of the electric car maker's stock, raising over $5 billion.

The sales, disclosed in 10 regulatory filings late Wednesday, amount to about 3% of Musk's stake in the company.
About $1.1 billion will go toward paying tax obligations for stock options granted to Musk in September.

He describes his initiative as a "social experiment".

Maezawa will give one million yen ($ 9,000) to 1,000 of his followers. They will be randomly selected from those who retweeted a Jan. 1 post.
