Cellphone networks are in trouble
Greece's mobile phone services sector is trying to assess the impact of a decision by the telecommunications regulator to summon the three networks (Cosmote, Vodafone and Wind) to more than 800 hearings for as many violations regarding the operation of their antennas.

Subsidized fiber-to-the-home connections to start this month
Internet users in Palaio Faliro and Vyronas in Athens, and in Kalamata in the southern Peloponnse will be the first to enjoy state-subsidized fiber-to-the-home services (FTTH), with Moschato in Athens, Kalamaria in Thessaloniki and Larissa in Thessaly set to follow in September.
Vodafone confirms Cyta Hellas acquisition
Vodafone announced on Tuesday it had agreed to buy Athens-based Cyta Telecommunications Hellas SA for 118 million euros to expand its fixed line network in Greece.

Vodafone wins tender for the acquisition of Cyta Hellas
Vodafone is the preferred bidder for the sale of 100 percent of Cyta Hellas, parent company Cyprus Telecommunications Authority announced on Friday. The contract for the transaction could possibly be signed even before the first round of the Cypriot presidential elections on January 28.
Wind is the favorite to acquire Cyta Hellas
Two companies appear to remain interested in the sale of Cyta's Greek arm. Rival telecommunication service providers Vodafone and Wind Hellas have confirmed their participation in the tender for Cyta Hellas with the submission of binding offers.

Four suitors express an interest in Forthnet stake
Troubled alternative telecommunications provider Forthnet has four suitors - two from the industry (Vodafone and Wind) and two others which have not been named but are private equity funds with a strategic interest.
The expressions of interest in acquiring Forthnet - owner of the Nova satellite TV platform - were made last Friday, as consultant Nomura had dictated.

An unexpected third suitor has emerged for Cyta Hellas: Besides Vodafone and Wind Hellas, which confirmed on Thursday their interest in the Cypriot telecommunications group's Greek subsidiary, Hong Kong-based PCCW is also interested.

Cyta calls for suitors for its Greek arm
Cyprus's telecoms authority (Cyta) announced on Tuesday the rapid sale of its subsidiary in Greece, Cyta Hellas, inviting any parties interested in acquiring 100 percent of the company to come forward by September 27. Although the deadline might change, it points to the parent company's eagerness to proceed quickly.

Fitch gives Wind Hellas a B- credit rating
Fitch Ratings on Thursday assigned Largo Intermediary Holdings Limited (Wind Hellas) a B- final long-term issuer default rating (IDR), with a stable outlook.
