BiH ambassador tenders irrevocable resignation

NOVI SAD - Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) Ambassador to Serbia Ranko Skrbic told Tanjug on Wednesday that he has tendered an irrevocable resignation.

Skrbic said that he has forwarded a copy of the resignation to President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik, who proposed that he should be appointed to the office in line with the RS Constitution in 2013.

Commenting on the reasons for resigning, the first Serb named as the BiH ambassador to Serbia said that a smeared campaign, which was politically targeted, was waged against him during the election campaign in RS.

The campaign was primarily aimed at the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) that I am a member of and its leader Dodik, and it continued after the elections and particularly after the decision that opposition parties in RS led by the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) and the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) will form the central government, he said.

SDS leaders urged BiH Presidency Chairman Mladen Ivanic to withdraw me from Belgrade in line with his legal powers, Skrbic noted.
