Greek rower Stefanos Ntouskos has clinched Greece's first ever Olympic gold medal in the sport, breaking the Olympic record.
Ntouskos pulled a surprise victory in the men's single sculls with a time of 6min 40.45sec, breaking the previous record of Mahe Drysdale of New Zealand (6:40:45 in the 2016 Rio di Janeiro Olympics) and defeating two time world champion Kjetil Borch.

Turkish swimmer wins historic gold at world championships
Turkish swimmer Derin Toparlak made history by bagging the gold medal in the men's 1,500 meters from the CMAS Finswimming Senior World Championships.
Toparlak became the world champion with a time of 12.38.27 in the men's 1,500 meters in the event, which started on July 5 in Tomsk, Russia, said a Turkish Underwater Sports Federation (TSSF) statement.
Turkish basketball team dismayed over playmaker Larkin's injury
Turkish basketball star Shane Larkin was removed from the national team squad for a shocking waist injury on June 23.
In a statement, the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) said that Larkin, 28, was diagnosed with a relapsed herniated disc injury in the team's training camp when the Anadolu Efes playmaker point guard underwent medical examinations.
