All 421 voting machines have already been delivered abroad. The machines that will be used in Bulgaria will be delivered to the polling stations on Saturday, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission  Kamelia Neykova said for the Bulgarian National Television.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) signed a contract with Ciela-Norma company to provide technical and logistical support for the machine voting for partial local elections and the July 11th parliamentary vote.

More than 700 polling stations will be equipped with more than one voting machine for the early general elections on July 11, Rositsa Mateva, Deputy Chairperson and Spokesperson for the Central Election Commission, said in an interview for bTV.

There will be no machine voting abroad, Stoil Tsitselkov, deputy chairman of the Public Council at the Central Election Commission - CEC, has told BNR's Horizont program.

In the experimental test voting with machine, conducted by the CEC in the village of Dobroslavtsi, just 36 people managed to vote in one hour.

About 1,000 additional voting machines will have to be secured for the early parliamentary elections on July 11, the Central Election Commission (CEC) told a news briefing on Thursday. At its first meeting on Wednesday, the legal committee of the new Bulgarian Parliament took up proposed changes in the election legislation - a total of six bills - and a draft moratorium on some decisions made by the outgoing government.

Bulgaria's April 4 2021 parliamentary elections headed into the final stretch ahead of polls closing at 8pm, with problems with voting machines reported from various places, allegations of vote-buying, websites penalised for illegally publishing exit polls and indications on strong interest in voting abroad.

On April 4, the polling stations in Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand opened first to start off the vote for the 45th National Assembly.
