Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said on Monday that the government will request the Central Electoral Bureau to secure the number of members in the electoral bureaus of the polling stations in case the representatives of the political parties that no longer have candidates in the presidential runoff do not show up at the polling station.

The polling stations for the presidential election opened on Sunday to more than 18 million Romanian voters. Nationwide, there are 18,748 polling stations. According to the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), the total number of voters registered with the permanent electoral lists is 18,217,156 for this election.

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila stated on Thursday that the Government will adopt an emergency ordinance extending to September 15 the deadline for the registration of out-of-country Romanian citizens with voting right in the Electoral Register, for the presidential elections.
