Directed by French artist Philippe Ken, the play is a captivating allegorical spectacle, blurring the lines between utopia and dystopia, inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's iconic Renaissance painting.

Known for its political dimension, "Nabucco" solidified Verdi's status as Italy's foremost composer of the 19th century, symbolizing the country's unification struggle.

Nils Frahm | Athens | June 23

The iconoclastic Berlin-based pianist, composer and producer Nils Frahm will be performing at the Herod Atticus Theater as part of the Athens-Epidaurus Festival. Known for his captivating concerts, Frahm is renowned for his unconventionally compelling piano playing that has won him fans all over the world. John Cale & Band | Athens | June 19

A pioneer with a six-decade career marked by major milestones like founding the Velvet Underground and discovering the likes of the Stooges, Iggy Pop and Patti Smith, Welsh musician, composer and producer John Cale is performing at the Herod Atticus Theater as part of the Athens & Epidaurus Festival (aefestival.gr).

Anne-Sophie Mutter | Athens | June 12

Acclaimed German violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, who started her career under the wing of the legendary Herbert von Karajan, is set to appear at the Herod Atticus Theater as part of the Athens-Epidaurus Festival (aefestival.gr). The world-class musician is joined by a string ensemble from her foundation and other selected young musicians.
