Exhibition of Chinese art opens at the National Museum of Contemporary Art

S&P cuts China's debt rating over 'financial risks'
Standard & Poor's slashed China's credit rating on Sept. 21, warning that a prolonged period of debt growth had raised "economic and financial risks."
S&P, which downgraded China's debt from AA-minus to A-plus, is the second major credit ratings agency to slash the Asian giant's rating after Moody's made the same decision in May.
China raises speed of bullet train
China increased yesterday the maximum speed of bullet trains on the Beijing-Shanghai line to 350 kilometers per hour, six years after a fatal accident led to a speed cap.
The speed limit had been reduced to 300 kilometers per hour after 40 people died in a high-speed train crash near Wenzhou in July 2011.
