Turkish resort municipalities call for delay of school opening over bad tourism season

The mayors of three Aegean resort towns in Turkey have called on the Education Ministry and Culture Ministry to postpone the reopening of schools by two weeks, in order for the tourism sector to compensate for the losses it has suffered this summer.

Gendarmerie seize 3,900 liters of bootleg alcohol in Fethiye

Gendarmerie forces have raided a cologne producer in the western resort town of Fethiye, seizing 3,900 liters of bootleg alcohol and the material used to produce counterfeit alcoholic drinks.

Security sources said 1,400 liters of the alcohol was bottled and ready for distribution. Two people were detained for their roles in the production.

Ancient Lycian road now has detailed map

Within the scope of the “Ancient Lycian Roads Map and Trekking Guide Project,” a detailed map of the Ancient Lycian Road has been drawn by the Antalya Governor’s Office and Culture and Tourism Directorate.

The road starts from the popular tourist town of Fethiye in the western province of Muğla and ends in the southern province of Antalya’s Hisarçandır village.
