Turkish megastar Tarkan to perform in US

Turkish megastar Tarkan will take the stage in the United States for a series of concerts in New York and Los Angeles organized by the SM Production Group in March. 

Tarkan will take stage in the Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center Studios on March 2 and 3, 2017 in New York and at The Novo by Microsoft in the heart of Los Angeles on March 5. 

Turkey condemns US court's parole for murderer of envoy

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has condemned the parole of a convict in the U.S who murdered a Turkish diplomat in the 1980s. 

A court in Los Angeles accepted on Dec. 14 a defense attorney's demand for the conditional release of the Armenian-origin convict, Hampig Sassounian, who killed Turkish Consul General Kemal Arikan in Los Angeles on Jan. 28, 1982. 

'La La Land' leads Golden Globe nominations

Dreamy musical romance "La La Land," set in modern-day Los Angeles, topped nominations for the Golden Globes on Dec. 12, as Hollywood's awards seasons revs up in the march to the Oscars.

Damien Chazelle's tribute to the Golden Age of American musicals picked up seven nominations, including best musical/comedy film and for its two stars, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

LA bomb threat reported to FBI from foreign officials

A “very specific” threat has been called in from a foreign country against Los Angeles’ Red Line commuter rail system, US police say.
Law enforcement officials alerted the public to the threat at the news conference, saying it had been passed on to the FBI by authorities in another country, where the threat had originated.

Esquire: Greek movie “Lobster” no.1 in top 25 list (videos)

Esquire, the renowned Men’s fashion magazine released its top 25 movies for 2016, with the editors’ top pick being Greek director Yorgos Lanthimo’s “The Lobster”, starring Collin Farrell. It is quite an honour for a Greek film to beat out some of the biggest names in the film industry. Another notable Greek entry into its list at 10th spot is Athina Rachel Tsangari’s “Chevaler”.
