Teen in Pella arrested for putting out cigarette on student’s cheek 

A 15-year-old boy from the town of Pella in northern Greece was arrested for putting out a lit cigarette on the cheek of a fellow classmate, state-run wire service AMNA reported on Wednesday.

The incident happened two weeks ago at a bus station in the municipality of Skydra. The victim, aged 14-year-old boy, informed the police and was treated for a light burn at the local hospital. 

Protesting farmers in northern Greece warn of further action

Farmers in northern Greece said on Tuesday they will escalate their protests and invited the ministers of agricultural development and growth and labor to a meeting to discuss their concerns.

Roadblocks have been set up on highways in the prefectures of Imathia, Pella, Pieria and Serres and that connecting Katerini and Thessaloniki.

Macedonian-styled tomb discovered during sewage network constructions at Pella

Sewage network constructions lead to the discovery of a Macedonian era tomb within the modern settlement of Pella. The Culture Ministry announcement stated that “the interest in the new Macedonian tomb lies in its architecture. The tomb was robbed in antiquity and dates back to the first half of the 3rd century BC.
