According to the Post Office Travel Money City Costs Barometer 2017, Athens is among the cheapest European cities to spend a weekend.
The cost of a weekend stay in Athens amounted to 210 euros, the survey found. This cost included airline tickets, drinks, a two-night hotel stay, dinner for two and city travel among other things.

Greek football champions Olympiacos Piraeus will most likely face Serbian club Partizan Belgrade after the 3rd qualifying round draw in the UEFA Champions League, as the Serbs have a 2-0 advantage over Podgorica. AEK Athens will have a difficult task ahead as they will meet with Russian CSKA Moscow.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg does not plan to travel to Skopje, but expects Macedonian (FYROM) Prime Minister Zoran Zaev to visit NATO in Brussels on Monday.

BRUSSELS - Serbia is an exporter of stability in the region, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said after a meeting with Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic Wednesday.

Lithuania's ruling Social Democrats sank to a distant third place in the first round of national elections, leaving center-right parties in pole position to form a new coalition government, surprise results showed on Oct. 10. 

Athenians are the least satisfied with life in their city out of the European Union's 28 capitals, though they like it better than they did four years ago, according to a recent report published by Eurostat, the European Union's statistical agency.

According to the online version of US magazine ‘Jetsetter’, Athens is one the 6 most economical cities in Europe for America tourists. The piece urges American holiday makers to seize the opportunity and travel to Europe in 2016, as the air fares are at very affordable rate with the US dollar staying strong.
