French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle anchors in Crete
The French Navy's flagship aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle, arrived at NATO pier K14 at Marathi, in Souda (Crete) on Thursday.
The carrier will remain at in the Chania region until May 7, to participate in the mission Aquila, a NATO deployment of 15 countries in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Small aircraft crash-lands on motorway, no injuries reported
Kranj – A two-seat aircraft crash-landed on the A2 motorway near Brezje in north Slovenia on Friday afternoon. There were two passengers on board and both survived the emergency landing without injuries, Kranj police said.

Greek female physicist wins international prize
Greek physicist Asimina Arvanitaki will be awarded this year’s “Giuseppe Sciacca” International Science Prize at the 16th World Volunteer Institution, which will take place on Saturday, November 11 at 17:30, at the Pontifical University of Urbaniana Lecture Hall in the Vatican in Rome.

Earthquake Shook Italy
After the storms and floods, an earthquake struck central Italy. The quake was felt shortly before 22:00 and had a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale, NOVA reports.
The epicenter is 8 kilometers deep and is near the city of Aquila, where in 2009 more than 300 people lost their lives in a series of devastating earthquakes.
