Demokracija: PM rewarding journalists for “media murders” of rival SDS

PM links replacement at UKOM to war on hate speech
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Robert Golob has indicated that Dragan Barbutovski is being replaced as director of the Government Communication Office because he lacks organisational and managerial skills to run an office that the government would want to get help from in the war on hate speech.

Watchdog looking into Petrol, OMV over fuel shortages, report says
Ljubljana – The competition watchdog is launching an investigation into whether Petrol and OMV Slovenija, the country’s two largest fuel retailers, have abused their dominant market position in recent days as there were fuel shortages right before a new pricing regime kicked in, the news portal Necenzurirano reported on Tuesday.
Agriculture Minister Podgoršek resigns over hotel bill payment
Ljubljana – Agriculture Minister Jože Podgoršek resigned on Wednesday after he became the target of media scrutiny over lack of clarity regarding the payment of his weekend stay at an upscale hotel in Bohinj in January. He said he was “resigning exclusively due to the late payment of the bill”, and was accepting responsibility for this.

As stated in the unsigned response of the Council of Europe to the question of the Slovenian MEP Klemen Groelj, the non-paper was not even discussed in that institution.

Summit of Brdo-Brijuni Process to discuss EU enlargement
Brdo pri Kranju – President Borut Pahor will host a summit of the Brdo-Brijuni Process in Brdo pri Kranju on Monday featuring his counterparts from Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia and the presiding trio of Bosnia-Herzegovina. NIJZ data show one in three positive rapid tests false
Ljubljana – Data from the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) obtained by Radio Slovenija and the web portal Necenzurirano show that one out of three positive rapid antigen tests have been proved false through the more reliable PCR tests since 13 February.
Omnibus bill to tackle red tape in the making
