The inaugural test firing of long-range air and missile defense system Siper Product-2 has concluded triumphantly in the northern province of Sinop.

The indigenously developed long-range air defense system is expected to start serving in the coming days to protect Türkiye's airspace, along with the Russian S-400s, as it has completed its final tests.

Türkiye's first indigenous multirole helicopter T625 GÖKBEY has successfully completed its first flight test with the domestic TS1400 turboshaft engine, Defense Industries Presidency (SSB) head İsmail Demir has announced.

Turkey and Russia had agreed on the procurement of two batches of Russian-made S-400 air defense systems as part of a deal, but talks on technology transfer extended the delivery time for the second system, Defense Industries Presidency (SSB) head İsmail Demir told state-run broadcaster TRT on April 26.

Turkey's Defense Industries Presidency (SSB) has enlisted a leading U.S. law firm to get strategic advice on protecting its rights in the F-35 fighter jet program.

The U.S.' unilateral sanctions attack the sovereign rights of Turkey and other countries, the Turkish foreign minister said on Dec. 17. 

In an interview with Turkish news broadcaster 24 TV, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said relations between the two countries could normalize if the U.S. meets Turkey's expectations.

Turkey's Presidential High Advisory Board on Dec. 15 condemned the U.S. unilateral sanctions over Turkey's purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense system, said the country's communications director.

The meeting of the board, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, lasted almost one and a half an hour.

Turkey is determined to achieve a fully independent defense industry and U.S. sanctions against Turkey will be a flare warning for further development of the domestic industry, Turkish Defense Industries Presidency (SSB) head İsmail Demir said on Dec. 15.

The United States on Monday imposed sanctions on Turkey over its purchase of Russian ground-to-air defenses and targeted the top Turkish defense development body, its president and three employees.

Turkish technology company NANOBIZ on April 9 announced it started working on producing country's indigenous test kits for the diagnosis of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

"With high precision molecular test kits, COVID-19 diagnosis can be made rapidly on the field," said a statement by the company.
