Turkey to Host Tripartite Summit on Syria

A preliminary tripartite meeting among the foreign ministers of Russia, Iran and Turkey is expected to be held in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, next week to discuss the deteriorating situation in Syria, as well as to set the agenda for a summit on Syria by leaders of the three countries in April, radio Voice of America reports.

Turkish prosecutors are seeking the indictment of the widow of an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) fighter, who they accuse of making bombs with her late husband for the group in Syria, U.S. news source Voice of America (VOA) reported on Feb. 16, citing local authorities.

"Kosovo Assembly should back Kandic for Nobel Prize"

Veton Surroi, a Kosovo Albanian author and publicist, made this proposal in a message posted on Facebook, Pristina-based daily Koha Ditore has reported, according to the website KoSSev.

Surroi said Kandic and her organization did "a big job documenting war crimes in the former Yugoslavia and war crimes of Serbia in Kosovo."

US congressmen nominate Natasa Kandic for Nobel Peace Prize

Two US congressmen have nominated Natasa Kandic and the Humanitarian Law Center NGO for this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

Voice of America reported this on Thursday.

The nomination was submitted by US Congress Helsinki Commission Chairman Senator Roger Wicker and Representative Eliot Engel, ranking member of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
