UN weather agency: 2014 on track for hottest year
With temperature data showing 2014 currently tied for the hottest year on record, the U.N. weather agency on Dec. 4 rejected claims that global warming has paused.
The World Meteorological Organization said the global average temperature in January-October was 0.57 Celsius (1.03 Fahrenheit) above average, the same as in record hot year 2010.

No place like home for many young Greek job-seekers

Professor Yiannis Tzifopoulos on Thursday apologized for comments that those in positions of power should act along fascist lines.
In a statement on Thursday, Tzifopoulos, who on Tuesday resigned as deputy rector of Thessalonikis Aristotle University over the incident, said he had used the phrase metaphorically.

Aristotle University deputy rector resigns
Professor Ioannis Tzifopoulos on Tuesday resigned as deputy rector of Thessalonikis Aristotle University following the release by a group of philosophy students of television footage in which he commented that those in positions of power should be fascistized.
