South Stream 'Could Be Revisited' after Bulgaria Election - Hungary FM

Hungary's Foreign Minister has argued the abandoned South Stream gas pipeline project could be revisited following the early election in Bulgaria next month.

RIA Novosti quotes Peter Szijjarto as saying: "All these countries in the Western Balkans and Central Europe, we have the interest of revitalizing South Stream."

EUR 285 million from IPA funds for cross-border cooperation

A total of EUR 284 million from EU's IPA funds cross-border cooperation will become available to Serbia by 2020.

This concerns cooperation with Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Croatia and two transnational program of cooperation – the Danube program and the Adriatic-Ionian program.

The invasion of the Soviet Union, Operation Barbarossa, was coming in a few short months, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria had joined the Tripartite Pact, and Yugoslavia’s government signed on to the same on March 25th, 1941.
