The occupancy rate at hotels in some resort towns in the Aegean region has hit nearly 100 percent thanks to the New Year holiday.

Holidaymakers are mostly making reservations for a 5-night stay for the 9-day long Eid.

Türkiye can lure many more foreign tourists into the country if it diversifies products and services it offers to travelers, according to the representatives of the industry.

The presidential election slated for a second round at the end of May is causing uncertainties in the tourism industry.

Sales are slow at the travel agencies, tour operators cannot make arrangements with airline companies due to uncertainties, people from the industry said.
