Refugee violence is a daily occurence on the Aegean island of Lesbos as thousands crammed in squalid conditions are losing their pateince while waiting for their papers to come through. An estimated 17,000 refugees are currently living in squalid conditions without basic amenities required for proper hygiene.

The Israeli military said Sept. 3 its air force had attacked a Hamas military position in the Gaza Strip overnight from which gunfire had hit homes in southern Israel.
