An estimated 17,000 refugees are currently living in squalid conditions without basic amenities required for proper hygiene.

Passportless Migrants Protest in Budapest at Hungary's Travel Ban

Hundreds of migrants protested in Budapest on Wednesday at Hungary's decision to prevent them from travelling to Germany and other EU member states, the BBC reported.

The protests, now in their second day, have begun after Hungarian authorities banned travel for migrants without valid documents in order to comply with EU rules.

One soldier was killed in an ambush staged by outlawed Kurdistan Workers? Party (PKK) militants in Turkey?s southeastern province of Hakkari on Sept. 1, a day after a police officer was killed in a PKK attack in the eastern province of Batman. 

Five Palestinians, Israeli policeman wounded in West Bank raid

Five Palestinians and an Israeli border policeman were wounded in a raid in the occupied West Bank to arrest a Hamas militant, the Israeli army and local medical officials said on Sept 1. 

The fate of the wanted man was not immediately clear. The army said soldiers demolished a house, in the city of Jenin, in which he was suspected of hiding, after they were shot at. 

'Bulgaria Missed a Brilliant Foreign Policy Opportunity'

Bulgaria should have called a regional summit to tackle the migrant crisis, instead of mobilizing the army to guard its borders, a recent analysis reads on the EUInside.

It says the former option would have helped see what is most needed by countries affected by the influx of migrants such as Serbia, Macedonia and Greece.
