Athanassios Randos appointed head of Council of State
Athanassios Randos has been appointed president president of the Council of State, Greece's top administrative court, it was announced Thursday.
His appointment was made on a recommendation by Justice Minister Costas Tsiaras.
Randos had until now served as vice-president.
Randos replaces Katerina Sakellaropoulou who was recently elected Greek President.
Police detain 6 after overnight clashes
Athens police say they have detained six persons after they were attacked with rocks and firebombs in central Athens early Sunday.
The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. when police investigated a report of young people damaging city property near Akadimias St.
A group of young people got out of the Athens University's Law School and attacked the police.

Lawlessness gripping Greek university campuses
Greece's universities are increasingly coming into the grips of lawlessness, as evidenced by a spike in attacks on students and staff.
The assaults, most of which go unreported, are apparently ideologically motivated and carried out by individuals who have no affiliation to the institutions - often self-styled anarchists occupying parts of campuses.
