Liberals to challenge Senate vote on Senator Sova's immunity at Constitutional Court

The Liberals will challenge at the Constitutional Court (CCR) the Senate's vote on Social Democrat Senator Dan Sova's immunity, National Liberal Party (PNL) First Vice President Mihai-Razvan Ungureanu announced on Monday.

The Liberals claim a new vote has not been necessary and ask for the reinterpretation of the first vote in Sova's case.

Serbian Prosecutors Question New Election Rules

Several prosecutors associations in Serbia asked the Constitutional Court on June 3 to review the rulebook on the election of new prosecutors.

They voice concerns that the future elections leave room for abuses and could postpone the opening of chapters 23 and 24, the key chapters in the membership negotiations with the EU.

Romanian Parliament Blocks Probe into Ex-Minister

Romanian lawmakers on Tuesday again rejected the detention request of prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption Department, DNA, in the case of a former transport minister, Dan Sova.
