'Energy Union Starts to Take Shape', EU Commission Says
The EU has made 'much progress' since the adoption of the Energy Union Framework Strategy nine months ago, the European Commission said on Wednesday.
While much remains to be done, next year will be important year of delivery, the Commission said in the State of the Energy Union Report published on Wednesday for the first time.
Corinth receives a warning device for tsunamis
The Corinthian Gulf is to receive an early warning device system for tsunamis that has been developed by scientists of the European Commission’s Joint Research Center. The project is a collaboration between teh European Commission’s Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection and the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC).

Macedonia Borrows More Despite Europe's Concern
By the end of this year, Macedonia will borrow another ?700 million, ignoring European Commission advice contained in the recent annual progress report to stop adding to the already sizeable debt.
Days before the Commission said it was worried by Macedonia's growing debt, the government said it would issue more eurobonds worth ?500 million to support the budgets this and next year.
