Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis traveled to Brussels Sunday, where he will take part at the Foreign Affairs Council Monday, the Ministry has announced.

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis had a telephone conversation with his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos on Saturday to brief him on the results of the Greece-Turkey High Council of Cooperation that took place in Athens on Thursday.

The two foreign ministers also discussed agenda items to be discussed at the upcoming councils to be held in Brussels.

Respect for European norms is a prerequisite for the improvement of EU-Turkey relations, the Foreign Affairs Council stated during their session in Brussels on Thursday. Ankara has expressed its expectation of positive steps from the EU concerning visa liberalization and the Customs Union. 

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is scheduled to attend the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) of the European Union in Brussels on Monday, as confirmed by a statement from the Foreign Ministry. The meeting will address several important topics, including Russia's war on Ukraine and the situation in the Horn of Africa region.

Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu will participate in Brussels on Monday in the meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers from EU member states (Foreign Affairs Council - FAC), a meeting debating geopolitical aspects related to the new digital technologies, EU's Strategic Compass and the situation in Ethiopia, as well as recent developments in Afghanistan and Lebanon.

Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu will attend, on Monday, the meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU Member States (Foreign Affairs Council), which will take place in Luxembourg.
