Police arrest 10 alleged spies operating for foreign intels

Istanbul police have apprehended 10 individuals suspected of engaging in espionage activities on behalf of foreign intelligence services, the Interior Ministry reported on Feb. 22.

The arrests were the result of coordinated efforts between the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and police.

Unknown assailants target French Consulate building in Patra

A group of around 15 individuals carried out an attack on the building that houses the French Consulate in the center of Patra, in the western Peloponnese region, in the early hours of Thursday. The assailants caused damage to the building's facade and a parked vehicle. No injuries have been reported.

250-year-old inn in Istanbul to be restored

A 250-year-old inn, located in the Galata neighborhood of Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, which once hosted the headquarter of the Ottoman Bank, will be restored due to a protocol signed between the metropolitan municipality and the Bahçeşehir Uğur Education Foundation.

The St. Pierre Inn will be converted into a cultural and arts center after the restoration.

Police take security measures near Russian Consulate in Istanbul

Turkish police have taken security measures near the Russian Consulate in Istanbul amid expectations of a protest in front of the building and a warning by the French Consulate to avoid the building's environs.  

Police forces were dispatched to the front door of the Russian Consulate building in Istanbul's central and touristic ?stiklal Avenue amid warnings of a scheduled protest.
