Close to 10% of Bulgarians fall into the category of ''extremely poor'', living with under 40% of the income earned by the middle class.
This has been shown by a research conducted by the Institute for Market Economy on the issue of poverty in Bulgaria and was presented by Petar Ganev Tuesday, as reported by OFF News.
State Would Cost BGN 4579 To Each Bulgarian Citizen In 2015
In 2015 the Bulgarian state would cost each Bulgarian citizen BGN 4579, plus a debt of BGN 3418, shows a calculation of the Institute for Market Economy, based on the draft state budget.
Largest share of the expenses is held by pensions and social payments - BGN 1577, followed by transport, communications and agriculture - BGN 649 and health care - BGN 542.
Bulgaria's Tax Freedom Day Comes on April 30
This year the Tax Freedom Day in Bulgaria comes on April 30, according to an analysis of the Institute for Market Economy (IME).
This is the day, when the planned revenues of the state budget would be completed, if the state took everything the people earned.

Retail Chains Contributed BGN 1 B in VAT to Bulgaria's Budget
The entry of the modern retail chains in Bulgaria brought mostly benefits to the country's economy, shows a survey of the Institute for Market Economy (IME).
Their presence in the country “legalized” the turnovers of the retail trade, and brought BGN 5 B to the economy in the period 2004 – 2013. In the same period those chains paid BGN 1 B in VAT.
