Boğaziçi University rector Melih Bulu ousted
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has replaced a top Turkish university rector whose appointment led to months of student-led protests.
Melih Bulu, the rector of Istanbul's Boğaziçi University, was dismissed from his post by a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on July 15.

Turkey confirms warmest May in over half a century
Last month was the warmest May in the last 51 years in Turkey, according to the country's meteorology department.
The average May temperature in Turkey rose 2.6 degrees Celsius (4.7 degrees Fahrenheit), according to the Turkish State Meteorological Service data, compiled by Anadolu Agency.

Turkey slams US statement on Boğaziçi protests
The Foreign Ministry has lashed out at foreign critics for criticizing Turkish authorities' way of handling protests at Istanbul's Boğaziçi University, saying that no one has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of Turkey.

Boğaziçi rector says he will not resign
Melih Bulu, the newly appointed rector at Istanbul's Boğaziçi University, said he will not step down following protests by the university students and academics.
Speaking to reporters, Bulu said he has no intentions to resign from his post and that he assumes that the crisis that started with his appointment will end in six months and that it will be so.
