Electronic cigarettes have played a significant role in the reduction of tobacco smokers in Greece, according to the results of a study commissioned by the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in Athens, the National School of Public Health and the universities of Patra and Macedonia.

Two in 10 Greeks have a high or very high risk of developing type 2 diabetes, according to a study on the disease in Greece conducted by the National School of Public Health's Department of Health Economics and the Federation of Cooperative Pharmacists of Greece.

More than half of Greeks complain of mental health problems, with stress, insecurity and disappointment among the issues most commonly cited, according to the results of a nationwide survey by the National School of Public Health, known by its acronym ESDY.
