Greece is set to experience a significant weather shift as a cold front begins to move across the country, bringing cooler temperatures and increased rainfall in the second half of November. While weather conditions remain mild for now, featuring sunny skies, comfortable autumn temperatures, and brisk northerly winds, a change is on the horizon.

A new heating subsidy model will apply for 2024/2025, with key changes including a higher subsidy for electricity consumption and an adjustment of the allowance based on updated climate data.

This week starts with warm and mostly dry conditions, with temperatures reaching up to 28°C. However, cooler weather is on the horizon, with a noticeable temperature drop expected by the end of the week, marking a shift after a prolonged warm period, as reported by Thodoris Kolydas, the director of the National Weather Service.

In a social media post, Mr. Kolydas noted:

 October’s summer-like weather is coming to an end today as temperatures begin to drop, gradually returning to normal for the season. Additionally, African dust levels will rise in the east and south. According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers are expected in the northeast through the afternoon.

A mini summer is coming later this week with temperatures starting to gradually rise, reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius. The rise will last till Saturday and the fall will start from Sunday.

Temperatures are set to gradually rise over the next few days, with a mini heatwave peaking on Friday, October 11th. On that day, temperatures in some areas are expected to reach between 32-34°C.
