Chief Public Prosecutor to combine leaked tape files
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have combined investigation files for a leaked tape that allegedly belonged to former Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal and several other videos which caused the resignation of two members of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) on the grounds that Gülenists illegally created the videos.

Broadcaster faces charges for 'insulting president'
An indictment has been prepared against television channel Kanal D on the grounds that it insulted the president by showing a banner that appeared during a Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) election during one of its morning programs.

Probe opened into CNN Türk for 'insulting president'
An investigation was launched on Jan. 25 into CNN Türk on claims that the private broadcaster "insulted" President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an during a news report on a recent lawsuit opened by Erdo?an against Turkey's main opposition leader.

CHP highlights liberal democracy
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) head Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu stressed the need for liberal democracy in Turkey, at the first meeting of the CHP's new party assembly.
Speaking at the opening of the first meeting after a new assembly was elected at the party's convention on Jan. 17, K?l?çdaro?lu said Turkey needed a liberal democracy and vowed to bring it to the country.
