Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş is set to kick off discussions on the proposed new constitution on April 30 with visits to various party groups in the parliament this week.
Kurtulmuş is slated to commence his talks concerning the amendment of the constitution and parliamentary bylaws by meeting with the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) officials on April 30.

Nine sentenced to prison six years after Çorlu train accident
After six years of legal proceedings, the verdict has been pronounced in the case surrounding the tragic train accident in the northwestern city of Tekirdağ's Çorlu district that killed 25 individuals and left hundreds injured.
Nine out of the 13 defendants involved have been sentenced to prison terms. Among them are four public officials who have been arrested and incarcerated.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel have engaged in discussions during a meeting held within the precincts of the Turkish parliament.
The encounter between Erdoğan and Özel transpired on April 23 as part of the commemoration of National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
