Is it possible to have too much Picasso?

Why can't the world get enough of Pablo Picasso? On the 50th anniversary of his death, it seems the appetite for the Spanish master is inexhaustible.

Picasso's ceramics, Picasso's sculptures, Picasso and feminism, Picasso's use of white, celebrity photographs of Picasso... the list of exhibitions marking the half-century since his death on April 8, 1973 runs on and on.

Arc de Triomphe to get posthumous Christo wrap in 2021

Even after his death, artist Christo's dream project of wrapping up Paris' Arc de Triomphe in silvery-blue recyclable fabric will go ahead next year in line with his wishes, organisers said on June 2.    

From Paris's oldest bridge to Berlin's Reichstag, the Bulgarian-born artist spent decades wrapping landmarks and creating improbable structures around the world.    

Romania-France cultural season to end July 14 with events in Carol Park

The Romania-France cultural season ends on July 14 in the Carol Park in Bucharest, where events for children, concerts and a fireworks show will be unfolded, according to French ambassador to Romania Michele Ramis. Among the events there are culinary demonstrations, children's events, and happenings. At 18:00hrs, there will be a concert to be staged by the band Vunk and Delia.

Selfie sticks banned in museums

London's National Gallery has banned selfie sticks, it said on March 11, following the lead of museums around the world alarmed by the possible hazards to visitors and artworks.

Selfie sticks, the hugely popular extending rods onto which a smartphone or camera can be fitted to provide a better angle for a self-portrait, are classed as tripods under the National Gallery's rules.
