One of the second Tsipras government’s first measures, a seemingly innocuous change in the exemption rule for school religious studies classes, has caused the first full-blown reaction — and that’s before any of the “tax raid” measures come into effect next month.

Another “Bitter pill” moment for the days-old second Tsipras government came on Friday when the relevant economy minister said the recession-battered country’s GDP would shrink by between 1.5 to 2.0 percent in election-plagued 2015.
Giorgos Stathakis confirmed projections for yet another year of economic downturn, and in the face of last year’s targets of a 2.9-percent hike in GDP.

The first “crack” in the day-old second Tsipras government of 2015 swirled around a deputy minister from the rightist-populist Independent Greeks’ (AN.EL) party, whose social media accounts were punctuated by a series of anti-Semitic and racists posts.
