RIK: SNS takes 55, SPS around 11 and SRS 7.7 pct of vote

BELGRADE - According to preliminary data of Serbia's Republic Election Commission (RIK), the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) won in Serbia's early parliamentary elections with over 55 percent of the vote, the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) amassed about 11 percent of the votes and the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) was supported by 7.7 percent of the electorate.
    

Kurz, Hahn congratulate Vucic

VIENNA - Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz has congratulated leader of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Aleksandar Vucic on Sunday's election victory, saying that he looks forward to further collaboration and hopes for rapid progress on Serbia's European path.

Kurz wrote the message on his Twitter account in both English and Serbian - in Cyrillic script.

CeSID: SNS wins

Serbia Holds Early General Elections

Early parliamentary elections along with elections for the assembly of the autonomous province of Vojvodina and for most local assemblies are taking place in Serbia on Sunday.

Polling stations opened at 7 o'clock (CET) and the voting will last until 20 o'clock (CET).

A total of 3270 candidates on twenty electoral lists are competing to win one of the 250 parliamentary seats.

Frattini: EU will not allow Croatia to block Serbia

BELGRADE - Former vice-president of the European Commission and Italian foreign minister Franco Frattini is convinced that the EU will not allow any state, Croatia included, to block the opening of negotiation chapters for Serbia over a bilateral dispute.

Frattini also describes Serbia's goal to join the bloc by 2020 as realistic.
