Krunic suffers early exit in Rabat

RABAT - Serbia's Aleksandra Krunic has suffered an early exit from the Rabat WTA tournament after losing 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) to Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova in the first round on Tuesday.

Krunic will continue her Rabat campaign with her doubles partner, Daria Gavrilova of Australia.

Serbia Davis Cup team to host Spain at A. Nikolic Hall

BELGRADE - The Serbia vs Spain Davis Cup quarter-final tie on April 7-9 will take place at Belgrade's Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, the Tennis Federation of Serbia announced on Tuesday.

It will be the two national teams' first encounter since the 2009 tie in Benidorm, when Spain won 4-1.

Serbia Davis Cup team to host Russia in Nis

BELGRADE - Serbia will host Russia in Nis for the two nations' Davis Cup World Group Round 1 tie next year, the Tennis Federation of Serbia announced in a statement.

Serbia are thus set to make a return to Nis's Cair Hall after five years - they beat Sweden 4-1 in the opening round in February 2012.

The tie is scheduled for February 3-5.

Djokovic gives Serbia 1-0 lead in tie with Croatia

KRALJEVO - Serbia took a 1-0 against lead in its 2015 Davis Cup World Group first round tie with Croatia, courtesy of world number one Novak Djokovic, who beat Mate Delic 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 in Kraljevo, central Serbia, on Friday.

Djokovic did not exert too much effort to defeat the world number 158 match in the match that lasted one hour and 30 minutes.

Obradovic: Djokovic ready for match with Croatia

KRALJEVO - Serbia's coach Bogdan Obradovic confirmed that the world's No.1 tennis player Novak Djokovic will play a first-round match of the Davis Cup World Group against Croatia's team.

The Serbian team will also include Filip Krajinovic, Dusan Lajovic and Viktor Troicki who has recently triumphed in the tournament in Sydney and is in excellent shape, Obradovic added.

TSS works with United Arab Emirates

DUBAI - The Tennis Federation of Serbia (TSS) has signed a cooperation protocol with the Tennis Federation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai, the TSS posted on its website on Friday.

Head of TSS Dusan Orlandic signed the agreement and thanked the UAE colleagues on their hospitality and intiative to establish cooperation.
