Representatives from more than 120 Saudi companies will visit Türkiye to discuss investment and cooperation opportunities.

Turkish companies have assumed 196 building projects abroad, which have a total volume of $20.3 billion in the first 10 months of this year, according to a business association.

Thus, the Turkish construction sector has achieved its target for the whole of 2021 two months earlier, the Turkish Contractors Association (TCA) said in a statement on Nov. 2.

The total worth of projects undertaken by Turkish contractors abroad hit $6.5 billion in the first half of 2021, according to a report released by the Turkish Contractors Association (TMB) on July 12.

Citing the Trade Ministry's data, the report said that Turkish construction firms undertook 100 projects in 33 countries by the end of June this year.

Turkish constructors earned $15 billion thanks to new projects undertaken last year, the country's trade minister said on March 30. 

Turkish contracting companies oversaw $14.4 billion in projects abroad last year, Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said on Jan. 19, adding that the figure was expected to climb to $15 billion in 2021.

2016 is a lost year for Turkey's construction projects abroad after more than a decade of rapid rise due to several factors, including escalating risks in neighboring countries and the ongoing oil slump, a leading sectoral association has said.
