Four injured in hot air balloon accident near Ljubljana
Ljubljana – Four persons, of whom one Slovenian and three Belgian citizens, were injured in a hot air balloon accident in the area of the Ljubljana Marshes on Saturday morning, the Ljubljana Police Department said. The injured persons were taken to the UKC Ljubljana hospital, which said that their lives were not endangered.

Ljubljana – Slovenian researchers have developed an advanced cell-based medication for the treatment of prostate cancer that opens up the possibility for the new technology to be used also for treatment of other types of solid tumours.
30-year-old man attacked by bear near Pivka
Pivka – A 30-year-old local was attacked by a bear in the woods near the village of Zagorje, south of Pivka (SE), on Monday evening. The man has been taken to the UKC Ljubljana hospital, but there is no official information about his condition yet.

New interim manager takes over at UKC Ljubljana hospital
Ljubljana – Jože Golobič was named acting director general of the Ljubljana University Medical Centre (UKC) to succeed Janez Poklukar, who was appointed new health minister on Tuesday. Golobič has so far served as chairman of the UKC Ljubljana council.
In Slovenia, the third death: Coronavirus is not the main cause
A 67-year-old man with several associated diseases died at the Infectious Diseases Unit at UKC Ljubljana Hospital.
The health ministry said his death was not a direct result of the infection. The case was described as a "complex situation", since the man had multiple medical complications in the past, according to the STA.
