BELGRADE -- The Serbian public voted for EXIT music festival as the winner of the prestigious Top Serbian Brands award, Tanjug reported.
The award is presented by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) and the Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA), EXIT announced on Thursday.

"Unified" building permits procedure to take effect in March
BELGRADE - All municipalities and cities in Serbia will have to start implementing a "unified" procedure for issuing building permits from March 1, and to introduce electronic processing of applications for building permits by the end of this year, officials said at the presentation of Serbia's new Law on Planning and Construction on Thursday.

US gives $6 million to Syria opposition government
Syria's opposition interim government said Jan. 22 it had received $6 million from the United States in the first direct US financial support for the rebel body.
The money is for development and relief projects in "areas liberated by the moderate Syrian opposition," it said in a statement, including food deliveries, public services and supporting local rebel councils.

Kirby, Selakovic open new building of Magistrates' Court
BELGRADE - Serbian Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic and U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Michel Kirby opened on Tuesday a new building of the Magistrates' Court in Sabac, northwestern Serbia, which has been adapted and renovated with the funds provided by the U.S. Embassy.

Business environment is improving
BELGRADE - Zorana Mihajlovic, Serbian deputy prime minister and minister of transportation, construction and infrastructure, stated on Friday that the business environment in Serbia is improving, adding that the government is open for entrepreneurs' proposals for its further improvement and strengthening of the economic sector.
