German parliament approves military campaign against ISIL
Germany's lower house of parliament on Dec. 4 approved government plans to join the military campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Syria
Of the 598 lawmakers who took part in the vote, 445 voted for, 146 against and seven abstained.
12 dead in petrol bomb attack on Cairo night club: Police
A petrol bomb attack on a Cairo disco killed at least 12 people and wounded five in the early hours of Dec. 4, police said.
Police launched a manhunt after the perpetrators fled the scene of the firebombing in the Agouza neighbourhood of the Egyptian capital.
Russia starts deliveries of S-300 air defence systems to Iran: TASS
Russia has started the delivery of its S-300 air defence systems to Iran, TASS news agency quoted an aide to President Vladimir Putin as saying on Dec. 3.
"The contract is being implemented, (deliveries of S-300s) are starting," the agency quoted Vladimir Kozhin as saying.

Six children die in fire in Turkey's southeast
A fire at a private religious school building in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r early on Dec. 1 left six children dead and three wounded.
The blaze at the boarding shcool in the Karaa?aç village is thought to have broken out after an electrical malfunction.
An investigation has been opened into the incident.

Russia says to ban agriculture, fruit, veg imports from Turkey
Russia will ban mainly imports of agricultural products, vegetables and fruits from Turkey and may expand its sanctions if needed, senior officials said at a government meeting on Nov. 30.
Moscow may delay the introduction of the food import restrictions for several weeks to ease inflationary pressure, said Arkady Dvorkovich, a deputy prime minister.
One soldier killed in PKK attack in Turkey's southeast
One soldier was killed on Nov. 30 in an attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the Derik district of the southeastern province of Mardin, where a curfew had been declared by security forces, the General Staff has stated.
PKK militants attacked a military vehicle with rocket-propelled weapons, killing one soldier and injuring another, according to initial reports.
Putin not meeting Erdo?an at climate summit in Paris: Kremlin
Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to meet his Turkish counterpart Erdo?an at a climate summit in Paris on Nov. 30, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
Peskov said Putin was likely to talk to U.S. President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the summit.

Turkey advises against all non-urgent travel to Russia
Turkey has issued a travel warning advising Turkish people to postpone all non-urgent travel to Russia after some Turkish citizens and businessmen experienced difficulties.
This is seen as the latest move in an escalating row between Moscow and Ankara over a Russian jet downed by Turkey on Nov 24.
Russian defence ministry says suspends cooperation with Turkish military
Russia's defence ministry said on Nov. 26 it has suspended all cooperation with the Turkish military including a hotline set up to share information about Russian air strikes in Syria, TASS news agency reported.
Russia has also threatened economic retaliation against Turkey and said it is still awaiting a reasonable explanation for the shooting down of its warplane on Nov. 24.
