Turkey's naval commander said on April 13 that Turkey was continuing its cooperation with Russia despite problems, noting that cooperation would produce results.

Admiral Bülent Bostano?lu said naval force would be one of the most significant elements both at present and in the future as it was in the past. 

He added that the country was continuing on cooperating with Russia.

Turkey has renewed its top military brass and appointed Land Forces Commander Gen. Hulusi Akar as the new Chief of General Staff, as his predecessor Gen. Necdet Özel has completed his four-year mandate. Gen. Özel is expected to hand over his seat to Gen. Akar on Aug. 14.
