AKP to submit own constitutional draft for presidential system: PM Yıldırım

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) will submit its own charter draft that includes a presidential system, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has said, a day after the nationalist opposition party hinted that it could support a referendum to chance the system.

Some 40,000 people in total have been denounced to police in Ankara as followers of the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen since the failed coup attempt of July 15. 
The informants include those who have denounced their parents, children, relatives and neighbors, daily Habertürk reported on Oct. 11.

PKK kills another local AKP politician in Turkey's Diyarbakır

A ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) politician was killed by outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the Dicle district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır on Oct. 11, marking the second such killing by the group in two days.

PKK militants opened fire on Deryan Aktert, the AKP's district chairman in Dicle, while he was at his workplace.        

Instability in Syria, Iraq affects Turkey most: Turkish PM

Ongoing instability in Iraq and Syria has affected Turkey more than any other country, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said on Oct. 10. 
"The situation to our south in Iraq and Syria affects our country, Turkey, the most," said Yıldırım on Oct. 10 during his speech at the opening ceremony of the 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul.
