A French photojournalist detained in May by Turkish police while on assignment in the southeast has been deported, the French President's Office and activist group Reporters sans Frontieres said on June 9.

French photojournalist held in Turkey ends hunger strike: Press freedom group
A French photojournalist detained by police in Turkey for nearly three weeks has ended a week-long hunger strike, press freedom body Reporters Without Borders (RSF) stated on May 27.
Photographer Mathias Depardon was detained on May 8 while working on a report in Hasankeyf in the southeastern Batman province for National Geographic magazine.
