Reactions to Constitutional Court's reasoning on anti-graft head Kovesi's removal from office

National Liberal Party (the Opposition's main party, PNL, ed. n.) leader Ludovic Orban on Thursday asserted that by the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR)'s reasoning regarding the removal from office of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) head, Laura Codruta Kovesi, the justice independence's constitutional principle is violated.

Chief Prosecutor of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) Laura Codruta Kovesi told AGERPRES on Tuesday that DNA had co-operated with the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) before 2013 as well, as requests under the protocol between the two bodies were signed by her predecessor Daniel Morar himself.

Feature film 'Why Me' directed by Tudor Giurgiu premiered at a gala Monday night attended by former President Traian Basescu, who told the director at the end of the event that he is convinced the film will be a success.
